Episode notes

For a few years now, something I have done for fun is getting two season tickets to the Broadway shows in San Francisco and taking friends to the shows. I recently saw “Hadestown” with Tricia Stone, who was my first boss and incredible mentor after graduating college. A few weeks later, I saw “The Prom” with Christina Bryant, who worked for me for ten years. I was Christina’s first boss out of college—so I was to Christina what Tricia was to me. Both of these professional relationships evolved into special long-lasting friendships.

Today I talk specifically about the show “Hadestown,” which intertwines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and the tale of Hades, the King of the underworld, and his wife, Persephone.

SPOILER ALERT: Skip from 4:34 to 6:26 in this episode if you don’t want to hear key details about the plot of the Broadway show “Hadestown.”
