AFFINITY GROUPS IN VETERINARY MEDICINE, PART II: VETERINARIANS AS ONE INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY FOR EMPOWERMENT

By now we know that the veterinary profession is arguably one of the least diverse fields in the nation. Students and faculty at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine are working hard to change that through student-run affinity groups, but the road ahead is long and difficult.

In today's episode, we sit down with student leaders of the OSU chapter of VOICE to learn how the organization supports minority groups that have historically been overlooked and underrepresented. They share why diversity is so important, discuss the delicate process of responding to and reversing racism, and offer ways YOU can have a positive impact on the profession—now and in the future.
